Discovery Channels have released the third season of their hit show “Mega Shippers – Land, Air and Sea”. Episode 10 takes you to Aalborg (DK), Valencia (ES) and sunny Montrose Scotland!
In Montrose, Rix Shipping are loading bales of Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) for export to Sweden in November 2019, to the m/v “Kertu”, a 101m long coaster operated by Hansa Shipping. The RDF Bales are discharged then recycled into energy at a specialist quayside plant.
AMS were instructed to undertake a draught survey to determine the loaded quantity of cargo for the Bill of Lading, attending once prior to loading and then again after completion. Generally, a well prepared and meticulous draft survey can achieve an absolute accuracy of ±0.5%. With extensive draught survey experience, our Cargo manager, Iain Cackette was on board to complete the survey.
